Re-defining Cobbs Farm Shops
Cobbs Farm Shops approached Silverless last Autumn to design the packaging for their house brand of spirits, a gin, vodka and rum. It’s a market we know, having created, designed and launched our own sundowner, Silverless Gin, with an African safari influence.
As we delved into the brief of what style and tone underpinned these house branded products, it became apparent that the overarching Cobbs brand needed some re-defining, so we set about articulating the brand purpose and creating a new design direction for all Cobbs marketing material. There was some urgency to get the spirits to market before Christmas, so the projects ran in tandem to be sure the influence of the main brand filtered down to the in house products.
Through collaboration with the Cobbs team, we settled on ‘Fighting the Good Fight for Better Food’ as the new driving force, this culminated in a ‘Good Food Manifesto’ as both an internal and external expression of their values. This has been embraced wholeheartedly by the winder teams and you’ll now find it in head office, in the stores and on their website.
We kept the logo, which is bold and strong and has a solid heritage but we brought in a new colour scheme, set of illustrative assets and a new typography system. The new look has a myriad of influences across food and design, there are nods to a rustic farmers market look but there is an elegance to the scheme that elevates it and makes the overall feel more premium and refined, without being arrogant or stuffy.
The project culminated in a full set of Brand Guidelines, we spent time handing over this document and educating the internal team how to utilise it to its full potential, it will now underpin all their marketing going forwards, including the refitting and opening of new locations in the coming year.
